Larch growth spurt a clue to other trees dying

Post by Admin »

Larch trees older than 400 years have grown more in the past 10 years than the previous 300 ... https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2 ... 142720.htm

These trees are unusually situated in high latitudes and are unusually hardy. The changing conditions that led to their fast growth spurt in the past decade may explain what has caused the recent death of so many other less hardy tree species in lower latitudes, where tipping points for some trees/forests appear to have been exceeded.
