Temperature records fall by large margins

Post by Admin »

So far in 2026, many of the most notable temperature records have been concentrated in Europe during an exceptional late-June heatwave, although records have also been set elsewhere. This as the El Nino is still building up.

Some of the most significant include:
United Kingdom - Hottest June temperature on record: 37.7°C at Lingwood, Norfolk, exceeding the previous June record by 2.1°C.
Germany - New all-time national high of 41.7°C recorded in Brandenburg.
Netherlands - New June record of 39.4°C.
Hungary - New all-time national record of 42.0°C.
France - Numerous cities exceeded 40°C, with several national June records and many local records broken.
Switzerland - Highest June temperatures on record.
Denmark - Preliminary all-time national temperature record during the June heatwave.
Czech Republic - Preliminary all-time national temperature record.
